Texas Southern University (TSU) woman’s golf team will be the only all Black golf team in the Tourney. The NCAA Golf Tournament runs from May 8th to May 10thin Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Lady Tigers continue to succeed by freshman, Jalyn Joseph receiving the SWAC Women’s Golf Freshman of the Year and senior, Amber Kuykendall, being named to the All-Conference First Team. Kuykendall shot an “even-under-par 71-73-144” and Joseph firing off a “75-84-159” which led the Lady Tigers to victory.
First time in TSU history, the Lady Tigers Golf Team won the SWAC Championship last week in Alexandria, Louisiana. The Lady Tigers halted Alabama State’s four-year title run. Jackson State was the runner-up for this year’s SWAC championship following Prairie View A&M in 3rd place and Alcorn State ending in fourth in the SWAC Women’s Golf Championship.
