I finally decided to stop procrastinating and start a podcast!!! I kept telling people that I was thinking of doing it, that I liked listening to my favorite podcasts, but they were sugar coating 30 to 40% of what they would say in real life. I’m like why not I do that (shrugging emoji). I don’t say much, but when I do people do tend to listen. I feel like I can be a voice to the quiet, antisocial, introverted people who still love to have a good time. My experience may not be typical of someone who blogs every day or on their social media, but everyone has a story so why not tell mine while I can.
To prepare for this podcast, I literally watched a million YouTube channels trying to learn how to start a podcast. I clicked on multiple pages about what kind of equipment that I would need or what resources I needed to record. I really wanted to try to do the podcast on my own before I even think of wasting money on studio time.
I recorded my first “episode” because I had a crazy experience at work and needed to let off that steam. Also, this was during the NFL playoffs, right after the sorry ass officials called that stupid play between the Saints and Ram. As you can see, it has been a minute since I recorded because once again, I pushed this idea of a podcast aside. I let a few close people listen to that first episode and I got really good feedback so why not keep it going.
My BFF and I decided at the beginning of the year that our word for 2019 would be consistent. This literally came after I answered her call when she was hoping I didn’t answer. FYI, we’re those type of friends that don’t have to talk every day, but when we do, we talk about everything. She said if I did not answer she wasn’t going to go to this meeting and if I did then she would have to get in this Houston traffic to get to this meeting. We chose consistent because we always say we are going to do things, but we procrastinate and take our time to get to our goal. For some reason that day, I answered and now so many blessings have been coming our way.
That is why I finally recording again and my plan going forward is to record every week. Also, I will try my best to start back posting on my blog and holding myself accountable to be consistent. Sometimes it takes someone close to you or yourself to make you want to take action and achieve your goals. Anyways be on the lookout for my podcast, Smell the Roses, and check iAmAProse for my blog posts.
